Dr. Kevin Chuang — Dr. Kevin to his patients — is the dentist and founder of Floss City Dental in Plano, Texas.
Background & education
Dr. Kevin was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and grew up in Garland. He went on to the University of Houston, graduating with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, and received a certificate in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Texas at Dallas. From there, he attended Texas A&M College of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery.
He is Chinese-American and speaks three languages: English, Cantonese, and Teochew.
Why dentistry
Growing up, Dr. Kevin was always interested in health care and loved working with his hands. After shadowing in several different health care fields, he found that dentistry best fit his personality, and pursued it from there.
One of his favorite things about being a dentist is helping his patients smile with confidence, relieving their discomfort, and seeing immediate results from treatment.
Why Floss City Dental
Dr. Kevin opened his own practice in 2019 because he wanted to provide the best care for his patients. Having his own practice means he can take his time explaining things clearly, and take his time with treatment to provide high-quality dentistry.
Outside the office
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kevin’s hobbies include traveling, hiking, and working out. He’s also big into video games and anime — and one of his life goals is to compete in, and win, a natural bodybuilding competition one day.
